How to Make a Paper Origami Giraffe

Stylized original paper giraffes will be a wonderful decor for a child's room. You can create them of absolutely any height. Such crafts look especially good in compositions of several pieces. It is also desirable that their height and size be different. The technique of their creation is very simple, even the child will be able to complete the entire follower of their manufacture!

List of necessary tools and materials:

  • yellow and brown colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • glue stick;
  • black marker or felt-tip pen;
  • a simple pencil;
  • strip of corrugated paper in a light green hue.

How to make paper giraffes

Step 1. We will make small giraffes with a height of about 15-20 cm. Cut a sheet of yellow paper into four even parts.

Step 2. Twist any of the blanks into a bag. Apply a little glue to the tip of the leaf and fix the structure.

Step 3. Using scissors, we give the cone stability by cutting off the lower corner of the leaf.

Step 4. We create spots from brown paper. We cut a strip 10-15 mm wide from the sheet. Next, fold it 3-4 times and cut out irregularly shaped spots.

In the same way we create smaller blanks. We will attach them to the top of the cone, and large parts to the bottom.

Step 5. Paste the yellow base with spots.

Step 6. On a piece of yellow paper with a simple pencil we draw a sketch of a funny muzzle of a giraffe. Circle the sketch with a black marker or felt-tip pen. We cut the workpiece, departing from its contour 2-3 mm.

Step 7. Apply glue to the back of the part and attach it to the top of the cone.

Step 8. We create the tail of the giraffe from yellow paper. There should be a small brush on the tip of the ponytail, it must be created from brown paper. We attach the tailpiece blank to the back of the craft.

Print Thanks, great lesson +1

A giraffe is one of the animals that has a long neck. If you print a craft template, then in a short time, such a cute creature will stand on your table. It has not so many details, which makes it possible to make a giraffe even with young children. Of course, separate the stages with scissors for yourself. After all, all the small details should be carefully worked out. Also work through each line and glue the body so that it looks like a cube. But the baby can be instructed to stick a long spotty neck with a head and a small tail on the back side.

Necessary materials:

Step-by-step photo lesson:

From the printed sheet, we cut out all the necessary details to create a voluminous craft in the form of a giraffe with a long neck. In total, three main details should be obtained - the body in the form of a cube sweep, a head with a long neck and a small tail.

We bend the body of the future giraffe along all lines.

Apply glue to the white areas of the workpiece and glue all sides together to create a square torso.

Now to the finished body we add a part with a long neck and head. Glue it in the upper part to one of the side faces.

Our giraffe is almost ready. But he lacks one small detail - the tail.

Bend the tail in half along the line. Apply glue to the white area. We lean against the body and let it dry.

On this our cute giraffe from the printed template is ready! Place the finished craft on the table and decorate with miniature flowers or palm trees.

Creative activities with colored paper help the child develop important qualities - perseverance, patience, imagination. Perhaps at first the child will need the help of adults, but over time, he will learn to come up with various paper figures himself. This workshop will tell you how to quickly make a giraffe out of colored paper with your own hands.

2. Draw the details of the pattern on colored paper and cut it out.

From yellow paper we cut:

The paper giraffe is ready. If the child liked to make a giraffe, then he can make a whole herd of such animals, but on his own.

Also from colored paper you can make other animals, for example, and.

This time we will try to collect paper giraffe origami. The model has an increased level of complexity, but is available for execution by any lover of Japanese art when following the detailed instructions.

By learning to fold a giraffe, you will understand how to make a dragon or a unicorn. Many beautiful models have a similar base. If you master the proposed technique, then it will be easier.

The paper giraffe looks graceful and majestic. You will be proud of your craft if you cope with folding all kinds of folds, sides and corners.

For work you will need:

  • thick paper of any color, square shape (the ideal sheet size is 20X20 cm, but another can be);
  • positive attitude and 15 minutes of free time.

Origami paper giraffe: step by step instructions

Take a square sheet and outline the diagonal lines on it, bending in half so that the opposite corners converge. Repeat in the other direction. Draw horizontal and vertical lines. Flatten the paper and lay in front of it in the shape of a rhombus.

Now add the basic Double Square shape. Read in detail about the basic basic forms. Take away the left corner in a vertical bend. Do the same on the right side, ironing the folds well. It will turn out a double rhombus.

Position the workpiece in front of you so that the free ends are at the bottom. Form a triangle with the vertex pointing down, bending the outer sides to the center. Spread it again.

Remove the sides of the fold lines inward. Lift the lower end up. It will turn out like this.

Turn the figure over by changing the front and back sides. Repeat with folding the sidewalls into a triangle and folding the corners inward. The result was a two-layer elongated rhombus.

The most crucial moment has come. Lay the foundation for the future giraffe in the origami technique. To do this, decompose the resulting figure to make it look like a four-pointed star. All lines should be clearly visible.

Push in the center vertex where the vertical, diagonal, and horizontal folds intersect. Sleep inside the sheet in a horizontal line to make it look like a boat, and triangles are visible below and above.

Point these triangles down by bending the shape along the top line. Fix the lateral inner lines of the triangles. One will remain on the front side, the other on the wrong side. The result is a design, as in the photo.

Legs and neck of a giraffe

The two lateral ends will turn into the legs and neck of a giraffe. Let's start with the neck and front legs. They are on the same line. Press the right end in and lift it up. If you look from the side, you will see that it consists of two halves folded together. Spread them on the front side.

For the resulting rhombus, center the upper sides. Direct the resulting details along the body of the giraffe, making the middle the outer contour of the neck and front legs.

Form the hind legs of the giraffe by bending the other end of the workpiece obliquely. Iron the bend well in both directions. Focusing on it, turn the part inside out. The inside will become outside.

Head

Shape your head where the neck ends. Pull back about 3 cm from the sharp tip and make an oblique bend on both sides. After bending, bend the end inward to get a protruding angle, about 90 degrees or a little more.
